World Silhouette Museum

Silhouette is the craft of paper cutting and thought light, mirror and water to present the picture.

World Silhouette Museum presents artist Fujishiro Seiji art pieces. He is a Japanese well known Kage-e artist. "Kage-e" is the Japanese art of cut-out art, fashioned after the principle of silhouettes. He uses hand-cut, multi-colored papers and see-through plastic materials to create picture with fairy tale illustration.
The museum is dark, with the light, water and mirror to display colorful silhouettes what is a fantasy place.
Also, he specially designed the Lake Shirakaba four seasons view big picture for us which is limited piece only in the museum exclusively.
After visiting museum, you can try to make your own paper cutting art pieces in workshop too!
There are paper cutting, DIY gel candles max , kaleidoscope, etc. It will be a memorable souvenir.

Indoor heated Swimming Pool with slide

The guests can use the pool all year round whenever is rainy summer or snowy winter.
Apr to Oct, the average indoor temperature is 30 °C. Dec to Mar is about 32 °C.
Swimming suit and swimming floats ring are available for rent.

Opening hour: 10am-9pm * 2020/4/6-17 is closed for maintenance.

Bowling alleys

Ikenotaira Hotel is offering family-friendly eight lanes in amusement building.
We have bowling ramp for kids to support them to enjoy fun.
You can get the result sheet after the game.
Bowling shoes is available to rent.

Rental cycle

Cycling is a good way to sightseeing more places than traveling on foot. In Lake Shirakaba , bicycle rental service is available. You can have different kinds of activities along the lake. Convenience store Resort Lawson and some handmade soba restaurant is a good choice for you to take a break.

Winter Activities

Ikenotaira Hotel and Shirakaba Resort Snowpark is connected. Shirakaba Resort Snowpark have mainly two area where is Ski lift No.1 and Ski lift No.2. Ski lift No.1 area ski slope is suitable for intermediate and advanced level. Ski lift No.2 area ski slope is suitable for beginner level.
From hotel to ski area (Ski lift No.1 area, it just next to hotel entrance.
Going to Ski lift No. 2 area , it just 5 mins on foot or take free Pota free shuttle bus.
In Ski lift No. 2 area , Ikenotaira Ski school provide beginner ski/snowboard private lesson with English speaking coaches.

Rental shop is in hotel ground floor.
